Like many piano technicians I worked for several piano stores when I was starting out: Wallich’s Music City, Nickl Music, Colton Pianos, Sherman-Clay. There were seven piano stores in the South Bay in the early seventies. Alas, the one remaining closed last year and now if you want to buy a new piano you have to go up to West L.A. One might think there were no piano players left around here, but this is decidedly not the fact!
